Best wishes to Maurice Lasserre, our heritage historian for a quick recovery from surgery. And, our sympathies to the family of former long time member Allen Zerinque who passed away in early August.

Dance Troupe

Four couples from the dance troupe represented our chapter proudly at the Annual LeCajun Music Festival in Lafayette. Thanks folks.

A pichnet or pichenett is a flip or thump of the finger to the ear or back of the head, and was pronounced (peesh-nay) by the elderly in New Orleans. You could always expect one if you nodded while dozing off in church, or continued to talk and play (instead of eating) at the dinner table.
